Asian Wedding Photography & Film Guide

Asian weddings are full of beautiful traditions and meaningful moments. To ensure we capture your day perfectly, please review the following helpful guidelines. These small preparations help us create the best photographs and films for your wedding memories.

Mobile Phones & Guests

During important moments such as the ceremony or stage photography, we kindly ask that guests avoid standing in front of the photographers or videographers.

Many guests enjoy taking their own photos, which is completely understandable. However, please ask them to avoid blocking the professional cameras so we can capture clear images and video.

Communication Before the Wedding

To ensure smooth coordination, please send us the full addresses and timings of all locations via WhatsApp at least 3 days before the wedding.

This helps us plan travel between locations and prepare the necessary equipment.

Bride Preparation

For the best preparation photos and video:

• Hang your wedding dress and veil in a well-lit area.

• Arrange your jewellery, shoes, and accessories neatly.

• Keep important items ready for detail photography.

These preparation shots are beautiful memories that help tell the story of your day.

Important Moments to Capture

Please let us know if you would like the following moments included:

• Bride preparation

• Individual portraits

• Family photographs

• Leaving the house

• Getting into the wedding car

Venue Arrival

Please try to arrive slightly after the photographer at the ceremony venue or place of worship.

This allows us time to:

• Set up equipment

• Capture the venue décor

• Prepare for your entrance

If you arrive first, please wait outside so we can film and photograph your entrance properly.

Travel Time Between Locations

Asian weddings often involve multiple locations. Please allow sufficient travel time between venues so we can capture every moment without rushing.

Ceremony Guidelines

Muslim Weddings

• Please leave a small gap for photographers to capture key moments.

• Important moments include the Nikah vows and dua (prayers).

• During the signing of the certificate, ensure both sides are visible.

• When the bride enters, walk slowly for beautiful photographs.

• Leave space between the bride and bridesmaids for clear shots.

Sikh Weddings

• Please ensure space for photographers to capture the ceremony at the Gurdwara.

• Inform us when the groom arrives at the bride’s house.

• Please allow the photographer time to arrive at the Gurdwara before you.

• We usually require 10 minutes to set up equipment.

• If you arrive before us, kindly wait outside so we can film your entrance.

• If there is also a civil ceremony, please inform us in advance.

Hindu Weddings

• Please leave space for photographers to capture important rituals.

• Inform us when the bride and groom make their entrances.

• Key moments such as garland exchange and sacred rituals are important for photography and film.

Couple Portraits

Capturing beautiful couple portraits and cinematic footage is an important part of telling the story of your wedding day.

We usually recommend 15–30 minutes for couple portraits. This can take place:

• At the ceremony venue

• At the reception location

• At a nearby scenic location

Christian & Civil Ceremony Tips

Christian Ceremony

• The bride should walk slowly down the aisle.

• Leave a small gap between the bride and bridesmaids.

• When the rings are presented, the best man should stand slightly to the side so the moment is visible.

Civil Ceremony

Some registry offices do not allow photography during the signing of the certificate.

If this happens, we will recreate the moment afterwards, including:

• Signing photographs

• Photos with witnesses

• Group photos with family and wedding party

• Photos of the couple with the certificate

At the end of the ceremony, please wait briefly for guests to exit so we can capture a beautiful exit shot.

For confetti photos, ask guests to form two lines outside the venue so the couple can walk through.

Group Photos After the Ceremony

Typical group photographs include:

• Group photo with all guests

• Bride and groom with bridesmaids and best man

• Bride and groom with each set of parents

• Bride and groom with extended family and friends

You may also provide a short list of important family members to ensure no one is missed.

Additional Photography Tips

• For outdoor couple photos, it can be helpful to bring comfortable shoes.

• If weather conditions are not ideal, we can take portraits at the reception venue.

• Please leave a small space at the top table so we can capture natural moments during the meal.

Evening Highlights

We will capture the key evening moments including:

• Cake cutting

• First dance

• Dancing and celebration with guests

Farewell & Cultural Moments

Muslim Weddings:

When placing the scarf on the bride or during farewell traditions, please allow us space to capture these emotional moments.

Sikh Weddings:

When collecting the bride from her home, we aim to arrive beforehand to capture this special tradition.

Final Advice

Your wedding day will go by very quickly, so the most important thing is to relax and enjoy every moment. Our goal is to capture natural, emotional memories that you will treasure for a lifetime.
